Seldom does a weekend transpire in the Athens area with as many events as took place this past Saturday. We – OK, I – endeavored to photograph as many of them as possible, though I did miss a few, and apologies for that. (It being my day off, I decided to cut myself a break.)

What we do feature in this photo gallery are 1) the seventh annual Steampunk Spectacle at the Athens Public Library; 2) the tricycle races to benefit the Athens Has Heart Fund at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital (where the races took place); 3) the Athens County Antique Machinery Show at the county Fairgrounds; and 4) groundbreaking for Good Works' new "Sign of Hope" facility on Central Avenue in Athens (designed to welcome individuals and families who are experiencing a housing crisis, who have a disability and are unable to climb stairs).

We didn't make it out to Eclipse for Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio's annual Fall 5K Fun Run (and Wall); the Walk to End Alzheimer's at the Athens Community Center; the Folk Art Medicine Show at Arts West in Athens; and well, we're sure there's other events we missed. Again, apologies for that. – Terry Smith, editor The Athens NEWS
