ARTS/West and the Athens County Knitters will present the second annual Athens Area Fiber Faire this coming Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3-4, at the Athens Community Center.

In 2014, the event was held at ARTS/West, and according to a news release was “a huge success, so successful that it has moved to a larger facility that can house even more of the wonderful things we have in store.”

The event will feature adult classes throughout the weekend in spinning, felting, knitting, tatting, tapestry, crochet and more; kids’ classes; vendors selling supplies and accessories that relate to fiber arts; knitting/crocheting circle for attendees to join in; live fiber animals to see up close; demonstrations of both contemporary and historic techniques; fashion shows each day; and more.

For class descriptions and more information, go to the Athens Area Fiber Faire page on Facebook or ravelry.com, or contact athensareafiberfaire@gmail.com. Registration for classes is with the respective teachers of each class.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 12-5 p.m. on Sunday.
