Maybe April

Maybe April make their debut Fur Peace Ranch appearance on June 2.

For its 21th season, the Fur Peace Ranch has released its schedule of performances for 2018, a noteworthy offering of returning national acts with some new attractions mixed in.

Tickets go on sale Monday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m., and if past years are any indication, they’ll likely sell out quickly. Last year, nine shows sold out within the first hour of sales.

They can be purchased through the Ranch’s website, wwwfurpeaceranch.com or by calling the FPR at 740-992-6228. Tickets are also available at Blue Eagle Music in Athens.

This year’s schedule has some new surprises and first-time Fur Peace offerings. Legendary singer/songwriter David Wilcox makes his first trip to the Ranch for a show on April 21. Maybe April is a country/folk/Americana trio with rich harmonies who play on June 2. Robin and Linda Williams, icons of the folk scene and a part of Prairie Home Companion for years will make their Fur Peace debut on May 12. Acclaimed bluegrass guitarist Bryan Sutton will play the Ranch on Aug. 18, accompanied by his band. Hubby Jenkins of the Carolina Chocolate Drops will perform a solo show on Oct. 20.

The schedule also features the return of legendary artists who have not played the Fur Peace in years, including Peter Rowan and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott.

The schedule will also features the return of some perennial favorites such as Tom Rush on May 6 and Electric Hot Tuna opening and closing the 2018 season.

The Fur Peace Ranch concert hall, the Fur Peace Station, is a 200-seat showcase venue with quality acoustics and tiered, intimate seating.

With 100 season ticketholders and space saved for Fur Peace students, only 70 tickets are usually made available for general ticket sales.

While attending a Fur Peace concert, attendees also can visit the Psylodelic Gallery and Museum and shop the Fur Peace Company Store, both on the grounds of the Ranch within a short distance of the concert hall

The Fur Peace offers food and beverages at the Station Break Cafe at the front of the concert hall.

The Fur Peace is an alcohol-free venue with no age restrictions.
