Lead singer for Campdogzz Jess Price's meloncholy voice floated over a lawn crowd at the Porch Stage during the second day of the Nelsonville Music Festival on Friday June 7.

Thank to a big last-minute donation, the Nelsonville Music Festival at Robbins Crossing at Hocking College in Nelsonville is completely free today.

The non-profit festival organizer Stuart's Opera House announced this afternoon (June 9) that donors Kleinpenny Rentals and the OU Performing Arts and Concert Series made a donation to pay for the single-day ticket of anybody who comes through the festival's doors for the rest of the day. (Other donors were announced later: Ohio University Diversity & Inclusion (Black Student Cultural Programming Board - Multicultural Center), Ed and Darlene Stube, and an anonymous donor.)

This was the final day of the four-day NMF, with Mavis Staples, The Wood Brothers, Darlingside, Julia Jacklin and plenty of other artists still set to play on four different stages. The headliner, Mavis Staples, performed at 6:30 p.m. on the Main Stage.

"If you already purchased a Sunday ticket, thank you for supporting our year-round Arts Education programs!" NMF organizers wrote in a news release. "We love you!"
