The 15th annual Nelsonville Music Festival kicked off Thursday with a mellow vibe and perfect weather. The various stages, including the free Boxcar Stage just outside the official festival grounds, experienced a steady growth in audiences as the day wore on. In the early evening, the admission tent had long a long line waiting to get in, with many people apparently buying one-day tickets to see country singer-songwriter Tyler Childers and his band. Beer lines also grew longer as the day progressed, with one person stating dryly, "No risk of over-drinking tonight!" Day 2 of the NMF gets going at 11 a.m. today with Chris Biester performing on the free Boxcar Stage.
