Letter: Why isn’t public allowed to speak at WOUB public advisory board sessions?

November 3, 2008

To the Editor:

WOUB had a public advisory board, which meets periodically. I attended their board meeting Oct. 28 where I learned that the agenda is closed and the public is not allowed to speak. I was not able to attend the previous meeting, but was told by someone who did attend that the public was not allowed to speak at that meeting also. This seems more like a private organization than one that is open to the public.

It is not clear to me who sets the agenda.

Mail them your concerns! I have accomplished a lot more putting things in writing than in person!
