The two candidates for a seat on the Athens County
Commission are matching each other almost dollar-for-dollar on spending
in the race, according to campaign finance reports that each candidate
filed last week with the Athens County Board of Elections.

Commish candidates differ (politely) on issues including economy
Sparks didn't exactly fly when the candidates for Athens
County Commissioner met for a League of Women Voters forum Tuesday night
at the Athens Public Library. But each candidate did make his election
case to voters with the discussion focusing mostly on economic
development.

House race debate hot, hot, hot
The heated race for Ohio's 18th Congressional
District stopped by the Nelsonville Public Library Wednesday night, with
U.S. Rep. Zack Space asking voters to not return power to those who
promote failed policies of the past, and state Sen. Bob Gibbs
criticizing what he called massive deficit spending and a tax climate
that hurts job growth.
