Today (Thursday) begins another season
of southern Ohio baseball in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League as
Athens' own Copperheads set their sights on a championship one year
after a heartbreaking semi-final playoff loss.
The much-coveted Athens High School
quarterback prospect Joey Burrow spurned dozens of interested college
football programs to make a verbal commitment to Ohio State University
to play there in the fall of 2015.
When thinking about the successful school sports
within Athens, the success that comes to mind is often on the gridiron and on

over the last year has commanded a bow and arrow.

Ohio University Director of Athletics Jim Schaus has named former North Dakota State University head coach Saul Phillips as the Bobcats' next men's basketball head coach. With seven years of head coaching experience, Phillips becomes the 18th head coach in OU history.
