To the Editor:
The decision to close Ohio University, like so many other decisions that come from the top and trickle down with stupidity, is a classic example of overreaction from an administration that is totally not qualified to make this type of call. This is a perfect example of the TAIL WAGGING THE DOG.
Are we going to close every time a pizza-delivery guy gets held up on campus? Maybe we should close and ban all pizza delivery on campus and send all employees and students home. If a sexual assault takes place on or around campus, we should at least send all female students and female workers home.
The decision to close the university put many students and workers out on the same streets that the police were looking to find the "THE FIVE DOLLAR BANDIT."
The decision to cancel the basketball game did prove one thing: THAT STUPIDITY IS CONTAGIOUS.

OU did what was right. OU is a small campus where everything is within walking distance to where the robbery took place.
I was put out by the that basketball game too, but it would have been irresponsible for OU to continue with a sports event after cancelling academic classes.
