Art of Ohio event at mall was a unique showcase for our state

I would like to thank all of the artists who participated in the Art of Ohio event at the University Mall on June 23. What a wonderful display of the many types of high-quality, one-of-a-kind works of art that are being created right here in Ohio! The incredible variety of unique pottery, jewelry, stained glass, quilts, gift sets, wood, blown glass, hand-painted tiles and specialty food items offered a great experience for mall patrons.

The incredible variety of unique pottery, jewelry, stained glass, quilts, gift sets, wood, blown glass, hand-painted tiles and specialty food items offered a great experience for mall patrons.

Thank you to the Athens County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Passion Works Studio and the Pike County Tourism Bureau for setting up such informative displays, and to the Ohio Valley International Council drumming group, Ngoma, who provided such lively entertainment.

A big thanks also goes out to mall owners Brent Hayes and Tom Parfitt for providing such a great venue for this community event. With such great response, Art of Ohio is now planning "Holidays in October," scheduled at the University Mall on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with many more artists.

Art of Ohio.com is a retail Web site designed to give visibility to artists throughout the region and beyond. The Web site is a service project of the Appalachian Center for Economic Networks (ACEnet) which assists entrepreneurs with business training and business incubation.
