The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) will be hosting a workshop at the Athens Public Library this Thursday (May 31) on energy-saving tips and customer assessment sign-ups.
The session begins at 6 p.m.
Assessments will consist of identifying potential opportunities for comfort and energy improvements in residents' homes by a trained energy assessor, according to a news release. Solar site assessments can be made available for those interested in the potential for renewable energy in their home.
Customers will receive information on utility rebate programs, local contractor resources and access to available low-interest financing, the release said.
COAD has been the national leader in home energy audits, energy-efficiency upgrades and whole-house weatherization for more than 30 years, the release said. "Our experience and partnerships with government entities and utilities has proven successful in gaining a pilot project Called 'Energizing Ohio Homes' in Athens, Ohio." the release continues. "With sponsorship by the Ohio Department of Development and Ohio Partners for Affordable Energy, our expert Energy Ambassadors have the opportunity to provide over 150 free home energy assessments."
Contact warmhouse@coadinc.org or call Nicole Peoples at 740-594-8499, ext. 253, to request an energy assessment.
