David E. Balch
David E. Balch, 51, of Nelsonville, formerly of Athens, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. Born December 30, 1960 in East Liverpool, he is the son of Eugene V. and Beverly J. Flowers Balch of Athens.
He was a longtime Athens County resident and was employed with Athens Rentals. He attended Athens High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by his longtime companion, Nancy Auflick; step-sons Delbert "Bub"(Joanna) Auflick and Robert Auflick both of Nelsonville; step-grandchildren Christopher and Kelsey Auflick; five sisters Debbie Guess and family, Tammy Coon and family, Juanita Guess and family, Anita Carpenter and family, and Robin Balch and family; two brothers Terry Balch and family and Brian Balch and family.
He is preceded in death by a step-son, George "G.J." Auflick.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday 1:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Bill O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Friends may call Monday 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home for expenses.
