Local emergency responders deserve credit for infant call

To the Editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Athens County 911 Emergency Communications Staff, the Jacksonville Volunteer Firefighters and the Athens County Emergency Medical Service staff for their quick response, rapid assessment and professional abilities to work efficiently with people in a crisis situation.

A couple of weeks ago we needed help with a choking infant who was having difficulty breathing; if you have ever been in this situation, you know how terrifying this can be.

We cannot say "thank you" enough to these three agencies for their assistance in this emergency situation. A job very well done! It's very reassuring to know that we have such dedicated and concerned individuals working for the citizens of Athens County.
