Myrtle Ida Hickman
Myrtle Ida Hickman, 94, of New Marshfield, died Thursday morning, January 19, 2012 at Logan Health Care Center, Logan. Born Apr. 7, 1917 in Calhoune, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late David Henry and Nellie Mae Shaffer.
She attended the Sandridge School. She was a homemaker and retired as a Registered Nurse from the Athens Mental Health Center after 30 years of service. She attended Salem Methodist Church.
Myrtle is survived by a son and daughter in law, Arthur and Judy Hickman of Logan; a son, Danny Hickman of Nelsonville; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenard "Glen" O. Hickman in 1998; two daughters, Juanita Hickman and Barbara Rice; a grandson, Glen Hickman; a great grandchild, Mykala Gilbraith; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be conducted Sunday 2:00 p.m. in Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens, with Rev. Carl Radcliff officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home.
