In America, a tired RN should be allowed to light up a smoke on break

To the Editor:

I read the response to my letter about allowing smoking on the grounds of O'Bleness Hospital and the grounds of the Appalachian Behavioral Health Center grounds from another writer. He came to the conclusion that I was wrong to endorse Ron Paul for president and also endorse a smoking allowance at the hospitals. But I simply must ask you; don't we live in America, "land of the free and home of the brave"? Shouldn't a nurse who is stressed out for three hours of intensive surgery be permitted to merely go outside of O'Bleness Hospital and be free to light one up to relieve stress rather than have to get in her car and drive around town and puff away?
