Seven area artists will have their work on display in Baker's Student Center in the Multi-Cultural Center Art Gallery during Fall Quarter. The exhibit, titled "Connections," includes fiber pieces, photography, ceramics, pressed flowers "paintings," paper collage and glass. Through Nov. 17.

pART and parcel. An exhibition inspired by the life work of the late Ora Anderson, who promoted conservation education and was a steward for the recovery of the forests of Southeast Ohio featuring regional artist's work. The Dairy Barn Arts Center, Athens through Nov. 27.

Final Fridays on the Public Square in Nelsonville. 6-10 p.m. at participating venues and galleries in and around the Public Square. Don't miss the Parade of SquareCrows on display outside the shops of the Historic Square Arts District. The scarecrows, made by local artists and businesses, will remain on display through October.

Majestic Galleries Opening Night: Dennis Savage's "Were You There? Halloween Athens, Ohio-1980's and More" exhibit offers 50 photographs in the traditional style of street photography. Reception from 6-10 p.m. during Final Fridays. Also, Paper Works by Kathy Guest "Incoherent: An Artist Addresses Breast Cancer."

Opening Night at the Hocking College Art Gallery: The Wonderful World of Pattern from Studio North, supported by Arc Industries and Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities. 6-10 p.m.

Starbrick Cooperative Gallery presents Opening Night: Starbrick National Cup Show 2011 A national exhibition of 65 contemporary ceramic cups, mugs, goblets, tea bowls, teacups and tumblers from all over the United States. Juried by nationally known ceramic artist and workshop presenter, Kristen Kieffer. Food and libations provided. 6-10 p.m. Through Oct. 25th.

Movie Screening: Wayne National Forest and Stuart's Opera House, located in the Nelsonville Historic Art District will host a free screening of a new film called "Green Fire." The movie is the first full-length, high definition documentary film ever made about legendary conservationist Aldo Leopold. 7:30 p.m.

International Studies Forum: The Center for International Studies and the International Development Studies Program at OU are presenting "The Arab Spring: Causes, Consequences, and Economic Ramifications," a lecture by Hassan Aly, professor of economics at Ohio State University. The talk is part of the 2011-2012 International Studies Forum series held every other Friday at 3 p.m. in Walter Hall, Room 145.
