On May 10, "Illusions of the Stars," an annual fundraiser for the Athens AIDS Task Force, was held in Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium. Once again, the show was very well attended and the money generated from this show will assist the task force in providing services to those individuals and families living in southeast Ohio whose lives have been impacted by HIV/AIDS.
The task force would like to thank the following members of the planning committee; Division of Student Affairs, Department of Health Education and Wellness, Office of Public Occasions, Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Programs, and Athens AIDS Task Force Board of Directors. We would also would like to thank those who sponsored the performers: Peg and Norm Cohn, Lauren Miller, Tony and Cheryl Sylvester, Attractions Hair & Tanning Salon, Athens Harley Cycle Shop, Mickey Hart, Gretchen Stevens and Tom Daniels, Joni and Steve Hodgson, Ron and Calista Strickmaker, Richard, Jone and Karen Jarboe, Dr. Fulks and family, Terri and Kenny Kerr, Athens Flower Shop, and Hughes & Moquin Funeral Home.
A special thank you goes to Roger Wells for oganizing the performers, and his tireless efforts to ensure the show's success for 12 years. We greatly appreciate and enjoyed Roger, David Lomen, Ted Brightwell, Al Cossin and Jake Collins as they presented their wonderful "illusions" of some of our favorite stars.
Lastly, thanks to all who contributed to the success of the benefit by donations directly to the task force.
