Students film funnel clouds crossing Athens skyline
Andrew Zeigler, an OU senior majoring in history, shot this footage. Filmed from outside the Summit at Coates Run apartment complex on an Athens south-side ridgetop, it shows what appears to be a funnel cloud forming while crossing Athens toward the city's far-east side, where it touched down and destroyed Autotech Service Center. This is not a funnel cloud. There is no rotation. This is just a low hanging cloud in part of the storm. They are very common and misjudged as a funnel cloud.
