Karen Brookhart, 62, of Albany, passed away Monday evening, August 2, 2010 at her home. Born November 12, 1947 in Athens she is the daughter of Dolores “Dodie” Boudinot Brookhart of Logan and the late John C. “Johnny B” Brookhart.
A 1965 graduate of Chauncey Dover High School, she was a Sales Representative for State Chemical Products Company. She was a longtime area resident and had lived for 15 years in Louisiana. Known by her CB Handle as “Honey B”, she was a member and serving as Secretary of the Golden Wings CB Club.
Besides her mother, Karen is survived by a step daughter, Angela Marx of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; three step grandchildren- Justin, Jeffrey and Belinda; a sister, Debbie Hinerman and her husband Roger of Logan; two nieces- Julie Vollmer of Columbus and Kendra Myers and her husband Casey of Logan; several aunts, uncles and cousins and her best friend, Cindy Martin and her husband Don of Rutland.
She is preceded in death by her father, John C. Brookhart and her son Jon-David Allen.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday 1:00PM in Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. Phil Ridenour officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Holzer Hospice, 100 Jackson Pike, Gallipolis, Ohio 45631.
