Sharon L. (Dotson) Hastings

Sharon L. (Dotson) Hastings, 48, of Athens passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday morning, July 7, 2010 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital. Born May 25, 1962 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Warren Gene and Alice Mae Yoho Dotson.

A 1980 graduate of Athens High School, she was the manager of Brennans Plants in Athens and was known for her knowledge and love of plants. She was a loving sister and honorary member of Richland Area Volunteer Fire Department for 8 years.     

Sharon is survived by her husband of 26 years, Timothy D. Hastings; a son Timothy Hastings II; a daughter, Kimberly Hastings and her granddaughter, Breana all of Athens; three sisters, Carolyn Tolliver of Chauncey, Marilyn (Mark) Jordan of Millfield and Nancy (Patrick) Bulstrom of Albany; her mother in law and husband, Marylee and Jim Bylstone of Yatesboro, PA; a sister in law, Maryann (Mickey) Rosser of Athens ; numerous nieces and nephews; all of her family at the Richland Area Fire Department; and her two dogs, Zeus and Apollo.

She has gone on to join her family- mother and father; an infant sister, Shirley “Susie” Dotson; two brothers- Gary and  Warren Dotson, Jr. and her father in law, David Hastings.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday 1:00PM at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. Tom O’Brien officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday 4-8PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family thru the funeral home.
