Terry Wayne Thomas

Terry Wayne Thomas, 52, Albany, passed away Monday June 14, 2010, at his sister's home in Continental, Ohio with his sister and brother at his side following a courageous two and a half year battle with brain cancer.

Born January 30, 1958, he was the son of the late Richard E. Thomas and Thelma N. Thomas Kincade.

He was a 1976 graduate of Athens High School and a self employed diesel mechanic. Over the years Terry has been employed with Gibson's trucking in Athens, Tri-State trucking in Cincinnati, Kilbarger's in Logan, and most recently he was employed for Smith's Auto and Truck Service in Wellston.

Terry was a member of NRA and the Athens Fish and Game Club Camp Heritage. An avid outdoorsman, Terry loved many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and target shooting with both his bow and gun.

Terry is survived by a daughter Amanda Thomas of Albany; son Richard Paul Russell of New Marshfield; sister Rebecca (Rick) Snyder of Continental; brother Richard E. Thomas of Athens; granddaughters, Adison and Marisa McClain of Albany and Makenzie and Hannah Russell of New Marshfield; niece, Tonya Anderson of Roseburg, Oregon and Tara Whalen of Gonzales, Louisiana; and nephews, Aaron and Colton Thomas of Athens, Richard Thomas III of Chauncey and Justin Snyder of Logan; several great nieces and nephews; and his co-worker and friend Jason Smith of Wellston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents Hollie and Hazel Plants Thomas and Clifford and Grace Linscott Gabriel.

Services will be Friday at 11 am at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, with Dr. Walt Goble officiating. Calling hours are Thursday evening 4-9 P.M. at the funeral home. At his request cremation will follow services and private burial will be at a later date.
