To the Editor:
I'm the mother of John W. Perry II. I'm very sorry for Sharon Tucker's loss of her son, Donnie Putman. I don't wish upon anyone I know what it is like to lose a family member. Just like she said, her son was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
My son, John W. Perry, was at the wrong place that night, too. Nobody knows what one thinks or fears when something like this happens, until you have walked in his shoes. So why judge them?
They feared for their lives and the children who were in the trailer. You know, the outside assailants should have also been charged with child endangerment for going there with weapons with the intent to rob. The people in the trailer were the victims here. Come on.
So giving my son 30 years for being at the wrong place will make it better? What about Jama? Four years is all she got for her role in the crime. She was complicit to murder; she drove to get extra muscle to help rob Bill Osborne. And why hasn't anyone gone and searched for the gun they said one of the defendants threw away.
