Visiting nurses/hospice founder deserves congrats on retirement

To the Editor:

On behalf of the O'Bleness Health System, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Marnie Frey on her important career milestone. She has dedicated more than 25 years of leadership and professional commitment to the well being of our community. In 1982, Marnie co-founded Appalachian Community Visiting Nurses Association, and the establishment of hospice services followed. In 1997, Marnie continued her commitment when the merger of the two services created the Appalachian Community Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice and Health Services.

Marnie has given generously of her talents and strengths. We are grateful for all of her contributions, especially the role she so fully filled as president and CEO of ACVNAHHS.

Although we will miss Marnie, she has worked hard and has earned the opportunity to enjoy more time with her family. We wish her the best as she begins her retirement.

James Riestenberg, Chair
O'Bleness Health System Board of Directors
