James J. Sheehan of Athens, age 42, died on May 4, 2008 at his home after a long illness.

Born February 14, 1966 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was an Associate Professor at Miami University and a Senior Fulbright Scholar. He obtained his Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. from Ohio University, and taught at Ohio University, University of North Dakota, Cleveland State University, and Miami University.

Jim was a caring husband, a loving Dad, an inspiring leader, an excellent teacher, and a good friend.

Surviving him are his wife, Olivia and his two boys, Ryan and Matthew. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Visiting hours are from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Christ the King University Parish, 75 Stewart St. in Athens with Fr. Martin Holler as celebrant. Burial will follow in New Marshfield Cemetery.
