Fawna F. Riley, age 84,of Amesville died Friday morning, May 2, 2008 at Doctor’s Hospital, Columbus. Born July 1, 1923 in Lathrop, she was the daughter of the late Arthur & Fachen West Quinn.

A graduate of Ames-Bern High School, she was a longtime Amesville resident. She was employed at Ohio University where she worked in food service at Jefferson Dining Hall and was a rural mail carrier for the Amesville Post Office. She was a member of Athens Chapter 175 Order of Eastern Star.

Fawna is survived by a daughter, Patricia Carpenter of The Plains; a son, Douglas (Elizabeth) Riley of Amesville; five grandchildren- Alex, Michael Joseph, Brian, Chris and Tyler; two step grandchildren- Michael Wayne and Amanda; her former daughter in law, Mary Ann Riley of Amesville and a brother, Kenneth Quinn of Guysville.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Riley; a daughter, Peggy Riley; two brothers- Rex & Lawrence “Hick” Quinn. Graveside service will be conducted Monday 3:30PM at Amesville (Mud Sock) Cemetery with Joe Kasler officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are with Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.
