Jack L. Clark, age 79, of Athens died Wednesday evening, April 30, 2008 at his home. Born Dec. 29, 1928 in Meigs County, he was the son of the late Earl & Gaynell Lambert Clark.

A graduate of Chester High School, he was a retired printer with McBee Corp., Union Printing and Ohio University. He was a member of the Athens Church of Christ and the Isaac Walton League. He had served as a Boy Scout leader and was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a 50 year member of Paramuthia Lodge 25 F&AM where he served as Worshipful Master in 1965, a member of Albany Chapter 558 O.E.S., Athens Chapter 39 R.A.M., Athens Council 15 R. & S.M. and Athens Commandery 15 K.T.

Jack is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lillian Murphy Clark; a daughter, Debora (Larry) Gibson of Athens; a son, Jack (Joanna) Clark of Glouster; six grandchildren- Shannon Clark of Baltimore, Maryland, Kayla Clark of Chicago, Ill., Mindy (Todd) Bell of Powell, Mark (Ana) Gibson of Madrid, Spain, Gregory Gibson of Ajo, Arizona and Valarie Gibson of Athens; three great grandchildren- Alyssa & Audra Bell and Jimena Gibson; two sisters- Jeanette Lawrence of Syracuse and Priscella “Peete” (Rodney) Bowen of Albany.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Joan Tuttle and a twin brother, Gene Clark. 

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday 2:00 P.M. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home by Chris MacNeal, minister with burial in Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Friends may call Saturday 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Paramuthia Lodge 25 F&AM will hold Masonic services Saturday at 8:00PM also at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff of Appalachian Community Hospice and others who have assisted in Jack’s care.
