Neva E. Walker, age 90, of Athens died Saturday morning, April 26, 2008 at Kimes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Athens. Born Dec. 16, 1917 in Stockville, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Frank & Margaret Crawmer Tiller.
A graduate of Bartley High School, Bartley, Nebraska, she retired from O’Bleness Memorial Hospital as a medical laboratory clerk. She was a member of the Athens Church of Christ.
Neva is survived by her husband, Richard Walker, retired professor at Ohio University; two daughters- Charline (Henry) Tomer of Allison Park, Pa. and Verna Raquepaw of Tucson, Arizona; a son, Wendell (Amelia) Walker of Williamstown, WV; six grandchildren- Jacob (Valarie) Valdez and Jared (Amanda) Valdez both of Tucson, Arizona, Kevin Tomer and Kyle Tomer both of Allison Park, Pa., Liam & Elise Walker of Williamstown, WV; three great grandchildren- Davian Valdez, Jasmin & Angel Valdez.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Eula Doyle and a brother, Griff Tiller.
A memorial service will be held Saturday (May 3rd) 4:00 PM at the Athens Church of Christ with Chris MacNeal, officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation has taken place and the ashes will be interred in Athens Memory Gardens at the convenience of the family.
