Hershel Blevins, 85, of Nelsonville, passed away, Tuesday, April 22, 2008. He was born November 1, 1922 in Hager Hill, Kentucky, son of the late Glen Evans and Emma Evans Blair. He was the widower of the late Virginia June Tolliver Blevins.
Hershel retired from ODOT where he was on a state survey crew.
Hershel is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Tommy) Foreman of Grand Prairie, Texas and Pam (Tim Weaver) Loudner of Nelsonville; two sons, Roger (Shirley) Blevins of Chauncey and Michael (Diana) Blevins of Nelsonville; a son-in-law, Bob Loudner of Nelsonville, 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a special friend, Wilba Hill of Scioto County.
In addition to his parents and wife, Hershel was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Loudner, a son-in-law, Ralph Loudner, four brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 25, 2008 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
