Stuart's Opera House is presenting a Christmas show this Friday and Saturday. "A Christmas Memory" tells the true story of a country Christmas in simpler times, according to a news release. People of all ages will enjoy this one-act play produced by Athenian Players Theatre and Berean Community Players. The staged version by Russell Vandenbroucke is an adaptation of a short story in Truman Capote's "Holiday Memories" collection. In "A Christmas Memory," a narrator named "Truman" (played by Joe Balding) reminisces about his boyhood when he was called "Buddy" (Colin Hull). The other main character is Buddy's best friend, "Sook" (Sylvia Abbott), a childlike but loving adult female cousin. Together, according to the release, Buddy and Sook have a wonderful time preparing presents, fruitcakes and decorations for the holidays despite their meager financial resources. "A Christmas Memory" will be performed at 7 p.m. this Friday and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday. For advance ticket sales or additional information, call Stuart's Opera House at (740) 753-1924 during business hours or check online at www.stuartsoperahouse.org.
