• The Athens County Historical Society and Museum is holding a Civil War exhibit called “Heroes and Hell Raisers: Athens County and Ohio during in the Civil War” at the Athens County Military Museum in Nelsonville. Final Fridays: Nelsonville’s historic Public Square hosts a monthly community art event the final Friday of every month except December. The event, which is held at multiple venues in and around the square, usually runs from 6-10 p.m. and features exhibits, performances, refreshments and other attractions.

Presentation: “A Courage That Knew No Bounds” documentary and discussion with Ivan Tribe. Documentary profiles Milton Holland, African-American Civil War hero who mustered into service in Athens. 7 p.m. Athens County Military Museum, Nelsonville.

Theater: OU’s Performing Arts Series presents the musical, “Chicago,” at 7:30 p.m. Memorial Auditorium, OU.

Eating Contest: Win two free burritos per week for an entire quarter. Ohio University students invited to the Big Mama’s Burritos Eating Contest. Competition will be before the volleyball match against Akron. Top 15 qualifiers and head volleyball coach will compete. First person to finish the 24 oz. Chipotle Ranch Burrito wins.
