Louisiana jazz/trad/Cajun band to play at opera house

September 27, 2007

The Red Stick Ramblers will play at Stuart's Opera House tonight at 8.

The Red Stick Ramblers, from Baton Rouge, La., play a mixture of Cajun fiddle tunes, Western swing and traditional jazz of the 1920s and 1930s, alongside a growing number of tradition-inspired originals, according to a press release. Crowned "The Great Cajun Hope" by one columnist, the Ramblers garnered rave reviews in the local and national press, and were widely credited with bringing traditional Louisiana music to a new, younger audience, the release said.
