ReUse Fashion Show
March 6, 2008
ReUse Industries is holding its second annual Project ReUse Fashion Show this Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at ARTS/West.
Ten teams of designers and models will compete for prizes donated from local businesses and organizations in this sustainable fashion event. Proceeds from the event will benefit ReUse Industries, according to a press release.
Each team used a $10 gift certificate to the ReUse Industries Thrift Store to buy the raw materials for their creations.
The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the importance of reusing materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill, according to the release.
An art installation, “Infestation: Love Swarm,” will be displayed at ARTS/West during Project ReUse. These collages of found items were created in January of 2008 by the Athens Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade classes, along with Patty Mitchell and art instructor Pandy Reiser.
After the fashion show, at 10 p.m., Casa Cantina will host the official Project ReUse after-party featuring music from Athens bands Casual Future, Silo Circuit and Russenorsk.

You will not want to miss this! Get there and get in, last year was a packed house!
Also, the after-party at Casa has some great bands and everything benefits ReUse Industries which is a wonderful non-profit!
